A Smart idea been developed by a Bury St Edmunds company to help other businesses, has now won Government backing. The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has given a £20,000 Smart Award to Tel-w company, based in Bury St Edmunds.
The Dapartment of Trade and Industry (DTI) has given a £20,000 Snart Award to The Tel-w Company, based in Southgate Street. The Business has already developed technology which enables telephone numbers to serve as website addresses - also providing businesses with websites which can be customised. Now the Company aims to use the money to develop the next phase - making that phone number also serve as an email address.
Arthur Cannell, company chairman,said: "I always knew that our technology would be of great benefit to the region, but the award will now really help us to move forward."
David Coker, a Tel-w director, said: "We are very excited - we always thought this was a good idea and it is great that this has been acknoleged by the DTI. "With Tel-w your telephone number becomes all you need on your business card. We are challenging the way businesses use the internet. |
